Bloordale Beach Gallery Events
The very first beach exhibit tour is this week and the very first beach exhibit film event is next week
Beach Exhibit Tours & Film Events
The first beach exhibit tour will be on Thursday, July 3 at 5 p.m. at Urbanspace Gallery at 401 Richmond. Come by and I can offer more details and added context, and I can answer questions, too.
Tour and film dates have been updated! Upcoming tour dates: July
The following Thursday, July 10 at 5 p.m. I’ll host the first beach film event on July 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the gallery. Both this film event and the one on August 7 August 9 at 3:00 p.m. will feature: a short word from former mayor John Tory, Richard Anderson’s overview of the beach and beach farewell videos, a short animation by Isaac King, in addition to documentaries about Bloordale Beach by Beth Warrian and Elizabeth Littlejohn. The event on July 10 July 12 will also include Monsieur Hulot’s Zoomtime by Martin Reis and New Bloom by Zinnia and Oriah Wiersma. The August 7 August 9 event will not include those pieces, but will include American Lifeguard by Martin Reis. Each program is between 40 and 46 minutes long, followed by a Q & A with myself, in addition to any of the other creators who may be present at the event.
Beach Book at More Stores
Welcome to Bloordale Beach has recently arrived at a couple of other places in Toronto: Three Horses on Dupont near Dufferin and Another Story Bookshop in Roncesvalles. Plus, it’s now available at a couple of places in Brooklyn: Quimby’s and Spoonbill Books, both in Williamsburg.

And while I was in New York, I visited my Galleria Mall book at Printed Matter at the Chelsea location.
And after two weeks in NYC, I’m getting settled back into Toronto’s mediocrity. At least Sunnyside Pool is open with a functioning heater!
I hope to see you at one of the events!
Yours truly,
Shari K.
